Welcome to Teslawire
Our goal is to provide material and references for the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) field, including structured cabling systems (OSI "Layer 0"); OSI Layer 1; and wireless systems. Wireless includes Wi-Fi networks, Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and Land Mobile Radio (LMR), both professional and amateur.
Nikola Tesla
Nikola Tesla (1856-1942) was the quintessential eccentric genius. A Serbian immigrant to the U.S., he was a major - indeed, often the major - pioneer in virtually all fields involving electricity; including AC power generation and distribution, telegraphy and radio transmission.
Tesla essentially invented the AC power generation and distribution network we all use today, ultimately proving its superiority over DC.
Tesla demonstrated radio wave transmission several years before Guglielmo Marconi, incurring years of patent battles over radio. Finally, in 1943, the U.S. Supreme Court confirmed the validity of Tesla's patents, making him the true father of radio.
